Amazing break with friends and our horses. Fantastic accommodation and hosts. Brilliant riding on and off site. Beautiful scenery. Hosts were great and nothing was too much trouble and provided a lovely home made welcome basket. The menu for pre booked food was really tasty.

Would highly recommend Magpie and have already booked for next year

We had a lovely midweek break in Bluebell cottage. The spa area was a wonderful treat and so relaxing after a lovely walk. The apartment was clean and spacious and had everything you needed.
We enjoyed the canal walks and had some excellent treatments from Lisa in the beauty room.
Overall a great stay xx

Exceeded expectations – lovely place and my wife made good use of the equestrian opportunity for two guided hacks which she enjoyed enormously. Very friendly and helpful owners. The cottage (Wild Orchid) was clean, spacious and fitted out with everything we needed and more.

Relaxed atmosphere with a magnificent spa free to use any day for as long as you like, what a saving that is. If you like the country feel then this is for you, plenty of walks wild life and horses.

Will be going back there again, also the is room has all the equipment that modern day living has come to expect.

Lovely place in a perfect area, which is both out of the way but close enough to the local community. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a short, relaxing break in nice surroundings. The cottages themselves have everything you need and the spa is brilliant. I will definitely be going back.

We had the most amazing weekend here. Liz was really communicative leading up to our visit. She met us on arrival and was really friendly. We had a massage with Louise which was amazing. My partner is a deaf sign language user and Louise was really considerate and Deaf Aware asking how he wanted her to let him know when time was up etc. Everyone we interacted with was lovely and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting all the horses on site and everyone we saw was happy to answer any questions we had about any of them. It's a very tranquil location and we felt really relaxed the whole weekend. Would recommend to anyone considering a visit.

What a find! Lived locally to here for 5 years and only just found out about this place. I booked a spa pamper night here for me and my daughter. Its absolutely amazing. Liz is so friendly and very attentive. Louise who does the treatments in incredible (best ive ever had) The cottage is so lovely with everything you need and more. Use of the spa with private timeslot is just perfect. We cant wait to book and go back again.

Just got back from our 2nd horsecamp this year which we would highly recommend the horses stayed inbeautiful stables, bedding hay-hayledge & grazing we're included whilst we stayed inone off lovely cottages ...inbetween our lessons we used the spa plus we had a spa treatment 1 day Dog friendly Homemade food if required which was just lovely Can't wait to go back next year 😊

We stayed at Magpie Cottages for three nights after getting married at Hyde Bank Farm. Liz was a fantastic host and we loved our stay from start to finish. The place is so peaceful and the spa was a great treat to relax. I also booked a full body massage which was fantastic! Highly recommend a stay here.

Just arrived back from an 4 days camp at Lowerdale. Exceptional from start to finish. The ponies settled straight away, such a peaceful and well kept yard. All the staff are so friendly and willing to help/answer questions. The cottage was home from home. Very comfortable, clean with all the facilities! The Spa - what a highlight! The treatments were perfect, definitely not waiting til next year camps to experience that again! Our lessons were with Danielle, so friendly and supportive, foundation of knowledge and I’ve taken so much away with me! Can’t wait to be back. Amazing! Thank you everyone x x x x
